AmeriCommerce recently created this infographic on Data Driven Ecommerce. It draws some great statistics from the US and UK, looking at the general state of the UK and US eCommerce markets, mobile eCommerce, SEO, social media, conversion and retention rates, coupons and drop shipping.

61% of global internet users research products online. That’s a massive proportion of online activity, clearly all retail businesses need a good online presence so that they can take advantage of internet shoppers doing their market research online.
A satisfied customer will only tell 9 other people about the positive experience that they have had, whilst dissatisfied customers will tell 22 people about their negative experience. It’s quite obvious that you need to provide a consistent and high quality service time after time for customers. And if something was to go wrong then you need to have the support there to solve their issues in a positive manner.
Creating quality content is seen as the most effective SEO tactic by marketers. And SEO leads have a 14.6% close rate, while outbound leads have only a 1.7% close rate.
